Established in 1997, Schram Crane and Rigging Ltd. has for many years been the sole supplier of crane and rigging training services for large oilsand, petrochemical and utility operations.
Schram Crane & Rigging Ltd. was founded in March of 1997 by Ron D. Schram. Ron had just completed over 30 years of employment in various aspects of the crane industry including rigging, crane operation, supervision, management and critical lift planning. He had also successfully completed numerous heavy lift projects as superintendent.
As part of our personal commitment to advancing safety in this industry Ron has served as former Presiding Officer of the Provincial Apprenticeship Committee for the Crane and Hoist Trade and has for the last decade been President of the Hoisting Safety Society of Alberta working with Industry and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety in development of legislative changes to the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code. The Hoisting Safety Society of Alberta put forward thirty seven proposed changes for the 2009 OH&S Code. Twenty four of these proposals are now law. This organization has recently put forward proposed changes for consideration and adoption in the 2015 OH&S Code.
Schram Crane and Rigging Ltd. specializes in all aspects of crane and rigging safety training from Basic Rigging to Critical Lift Management at an engineering and safety manager level. We also provide crane and rigging safety evaluations for our customers and offer full incident investigation and engineering services. Additionally, Schram Crane and Rigging Ltd. provides engineered lift studies. Our training courses are generally recognized throughout industry and by Alberta Occupational Health and Safety.
